The team behind All Paws Retreat, a dog daycare and grooming business, set out to create a space where their community could continue to connect long after the workday ended and dogs were picked up. That vision led founder Casie Goldstein to The Wag — People Park, Dog Bar, conceived as Columbus’s first indoor-outdoor people park and dog bar and a modern interpretation of a third space designed for dog lovers and their neighborhoods.
This purpose-driven, dog-centric hospitality and recreation destination includes a 10,000-square-foot indoor facility paired with an acre of outdoor space, thoughtfully programmed to support both human social interaction and canine play year-round. The design features an indoor off-leash dog park with turf, a three-sided bar serving craft beverages and local snacks, flexible seating with Wi-Fi for work or leisure, and expansive outdoor areas for socializing and events. Additional amenities include a pet retail shop, grooming salon, treatery, and a reservable celebration space, creating a layered environment that supports ongoing community engagement.
From early collaboration through construction, the project team prioritized user-centric decisions around circulation, comfort, safety, and interaction. The result is a dynamic gathering place that fosters connection between people and their pets while contributing a distinctive new third space to one of Columbus’s most active neighborhoods.
