Lower Lights Health Clinic and Pharmacy
The Northland expansion for Lower Lights Health represents a significant investment in accessible, community-based healthcare in Northeast Columbus. Located within the former Molina Healthcare office building at 3000 Corporate Exchange Drive, the project converted previously occupied corporate office space into a fully functioning healthcare environment across two floors. Completed concurrently, the work included an 8,000+ square-foot fifth-floor clinic and a 973-square-foot first-floor pharmacy; a new offering for patients in this location.
Designed in partnership with Darin Ranker Architects + Interior Designers, the transformation required extensive infrastructure updates to meet the needs of a modern medical clinic. Upgrades included medical-grade finishes, plumbing installations for labs and exam rooms, updated lighting systems, and modifications to support clinical operations. Mechanical and life-safety systems were adapted to align with healthcare standards while maintaining efficiency within the existing building framework.
The fifth-floor clinic accommodates a broad range of services, including primary care, mental health support, laboratory functions, nurse stations, and social service spaces reflecting Lower Lights’ holistic model of care. The layout was carefully planned to maximize the building’s expansive window lines, bringing natural light deep into staff work areas and patient corridors. This daylight strategy enhances the clinical environment while supporting staff wellness.
On the first floor, the new pharmacy provides convenient access to prescriptions for patients receiving care upstairs; an amenity previously unavailable in the Northland location. Thoughtful coordination across floors ensured efficient scheduling, safe material movement, and seamless execution within an occupied multi-tenant building.
Brand integration plays a key role throughout the space. Furniture selections, paint colors, and wayfinding signage align with Lower Lights’ visual identity. Digital display screens positioned throughout the clinic communicate important health information and recognize the donors whose support makes this new facility with expanded access to care possible.
The completed project delivers a modern, welcoming healthcare facility that increases access to comprehensive medical services in an underserved part of Columbus, reinforcing the role of well-executed construction in strengthening community infrastructure.
