Honoring Jeff Berling With Harold Compton Legacy Award
The company gathered at Parsons North Brewing for a celebration of Jeff Berling’s work after more than nine years at Compton. Jeff is leaving his role as Director of Construction to answer a calling to build affordable housing.
This part of his journey began with the success of our team’s design in the NextHome:2021 Design Competition when our collaboration with Architectural Alliance, CK Consultants and Rise Home Builders was awarded first prize for our home design and constructability costs. Jeff will now lead Rise Home Builders in the construction of ten affordable homes around Columbus and plans to continue building homes in the future.
Jeff joined the company in 2015 as a superintendent/project manager with a background in residential construction. He jumped in with both feet taking on complex commercial projects like Juniper, the rooftop venue at the Smith Brother’s Hardware building. He developed his knowledge and built rapport with a vast network of clients and trade partners. It quickly became clear that Jeff was the right person to lead the production team as our Director of Construction.
Jeff’s more than nine years at Compton were deserving of our highest recognition as he was awarded our second ever Harold Compton Legacy Award at his going away celebration. Congratulations Jeff and thank you for your many years of service to Compton and the greater community!
