Phase 2 Columbus Idea Foundry

Planning and Design Has Begun…

Just 2 short years after opening in Franklinton, The Columbus Idea Foundry will be expanding and renovating their second floor to create more studio space, classrooms for learning, and event space. Triad Architects along with the Compton Construction team will once again be leading the project. The design is taking inspiration from other creative spaces across the country, and will bring new opportunities to the Franklinton area of Columbus.

The Columbus Idea Foundry is Ohio’s premier maker-space. They are made up of artists, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, and  members wishing to create!  In 2013, the Idea Foundry moved to Franklinton, after the renovation of an old warehouse. The Phase 1 renovation was mainly to the ground level and consisted of constructing the work spaces, studios, and bringing the building into the 21st century.

Phase 2 of the renovation planning includes a new roof, heating and cooling updates, window replacement, partial refinishing of the hardwood floors and limited elevator improvements. The space will be divided to include approximately 50 offices for startups, larger suites for businesses, and an open multipurpose event space for meetings, classes and events.

There is no better feedback than gaining a repeat client. We are excited to grow with the Columbus Idea Foundry and begin Phase 2 of their renovation.
