The Story Behind The Benches

Acommunitydonation few weeks ago, the Clintonville Community Market posted on their Facebook page, about a need for chairs to put around their massive 10′ long community table. When our president, Blake, heard about the need, he put a plan into action, and 4 benches were custom made from reclaimed wood by Revival Wood Works. The wood was saved from the landfill and harvested from a local 1920’s home in Olde Towne East that is currently under a complete renovation. The benches were made entirely from the salvaged old-growth pine studs, after being de-nailed, sanded, and cleaned. The bases were then painted black to match the table, and the tops were sealed with clear varnish to enhance the beauty of the grain and preserve the character of the worn wood.

The benches were then delivered in time for Taco Tuesday, and we had the opportunity to enjoy some awesome tacos seated around the community table!
